On March 30,The world's largest class DP shuttle tanker "NS PIONEER" designed independently by DSIC of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited(CSSC) was officially delivered, achieving a double breakthrough in China's shipping industry and shipbuilding industry.
The 《CCTV News》 on CCTV 1 reported the news on the evening of the same day.
《Live News》 on CCTV 13 has focus on DSIC from multiple angles in the daytime of March 30.
1. The first shuttle tanker built for domestic shipowners
"NS PIONEER"is the tanker commissioned by China Shipping Petrochemical Import and Export Co. LTD to be tailormade by DSIC for the transportation of Chinese share oil in the world's largest deep-water oil and gas field——Buzios and Mero oil fields in Brazil. With complete independent intellectual property rights, it is another successful work of DSIC and it marks the return of DSIC to the shuttle tanker construction market. The vessel has a payload capacity of 155,000 tons, a total length of 279 meters, a width of 48 meters and a depth of 23.7 meters. It adopts industry-leading DP dynamic positioning technology (DP2) and a new generation of bow loading system, providing stable position control and higher oil lift safety. The vessel is the first new DP tanker to be built according to the latest version of Petroleo Brasileiro SA, and is the largest class of DP tanker built to this standard in the world. With low energy consumption and high maneuverability, the ship meets Tier III standards for nitrogen oxide emissions and EEDI Stage 2 in the Ship Energy Efficiency Design Index. Its carbon emissions per deadweight ton miles are about a quarter lower than the baseline value, and it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 7,000 tons per year, equivalent to planting 1,200 trees.
2.Crude oil transportation by sea,Ensuring safety is a top priority
3.Equipped with a variety of new technologies,High technology brings high value
The DP system is a positioning method that automatically maintains a floating device at sea without using mooring. It reduces the need for complex anchoring operations and is not limited by the length of the mooring line. It can operate in water depths of more than 1000m. The DP2 system is designed to provide a safe distance between the shuttle tanker and the floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO), allowing it to move relative to the FPSO for safe operation.
This vessel is the first shuttle tanker in China to be equipped with a closed-loop power distribution system that meets the requirements of DP2, which can reduce the number of generators online at the same time, improve the operation economy, reduce nitrogen oxide, sulfide and carbon dioxide emissions, reduce noise, and create a comfortable working environment for the crew. With a loading rate of up to 9,000 cubic meters per hour, the bow loading system is equipped with a variety of operating modes including single point mooring, offshore terminal, multi-point mooring and external transport. Combined with the DP2 system, loading and unloading operations can be carried out safely and efficiently from various offshore terminals and vessels.
4.Technological iteration drives the transformation and upgrading of ship enterprises
After delivery, the vessel will go to Brazil to carry out oil extraction operations, providing guarantee for CNOOC's deep-sea oil extraction transport in international waters. The average operating water depth of ultra-deepwater oil fields in Brazil is about 2,000 meters, and the sea area where the climate is changeable, the wind and waves are large, and the environmental conditions are harsh. Therefore, the dynamic positioning function of oil tanker in oil extraction operation is highly required.
"NS PIONEER" has fully independent intellectual property rights. It is the first Suez-class shuttle tanker ordered by domestic ship owner. Like a "floating oil pipeline" laid in the Southern Ocean, it is another milestone in the implementation of the strategy of "national oil national transport, national vessel national manufacturing". |
