On December 10, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation(DSIC), the subsidiary of CSSC, held the "cloud naming and ship delivery" ceremony of No.97 300,000dwt VLCC built for China Merchants Energy Shipping Corporation(CMES) in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Dalian in form of video connection, realizing "cloud naming", "cloud cable cutting" and "cloud delivery".
At Shenzhen venue, Hu Jianhua, general manager of China Merchants Group named the new ship "Kaijin", and Zhao Juan, assistant general manager of the board office of CMES, cut the cable for the new ship; Sun Wei, member of the Party group and deputy general manager of CSSC, witnessed in Shanghai; Li Weiping, vice general manager of Associated Maritime Company (HONG KONG), Yan Xiaolin, general manager of DNV Classification Society in the North, as well as Yang Zhizhong and Lin Jiming, leaders of DSIC, attended the ceremony at the venue in Dalian.
The ship is 333m long, similar to the length of 35 5-ton trucks connected end to end. The total painting area is more than 540,000 square meters, equivalent to the total area of 76 standard football fields. The ship is 60m wide and 30m deep, and registered with DNV Classification Society. It belongs to the ship type of unlimited navigation area with a range of more than 26,000 nautical miles, and can sail all over the world. It can normally carry 2 million barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Malacca at design draft of 20.5 meters.
The ship is a new generation of energy-saving and environment-friendly VLCC meticulously built for CMES. Compared with the previous generation of ships , it pays more attention to energy-saving optimization of the actual operation, greatly reduces the ballast draft fuel consumption, and improves the navigation performance in wind and waves. This series of ships not only have excellent overall indicators, but also have excellent safety and environmental protection performance, meeting HCSR, the latest NOx and SOx emission requirements, the requirements of the second stage for EEDI in advance, the requirements of hazardous substances list of EU ship dismantling convention and the latest requirements of large tanker companies.
Adhering to the concept of building VLCC for CMES as high-quality project, DSIC has continuously optimized and improved all aspects of the construction of "Kaijin" ship and comprehensively improved the integrity of all processes. In project construction management, we have clarified production management indicators, further optimized management measures and follow-up implementation to improve efficiency. We have strengthened epidemic prevention and control management, focusing on tracking production planning cycle and production quality risks, and successfully completed all construction nodes of the project in advance. Before sea trial, the integrity of the ship was in the best state of the series ship. All outstanding work was completed before November 30, continuing the tradition of zero mopping up and reaching the state of delivery. |
