Recently, No.2 37,000dwt Great Lake bulk carrier built for Poland PZM Company has been completed triumphant sea trial by DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Corporation Limited (SHGSIC) .
The Great Lake bulk carrier meets the navigational requirements of the St. Lawrence Seaway, which allows it to navigate the Great Lakes region bordering the United States and Canada. The ship has an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 23.7 meters, a depth of 15.6 meters, a design draft of 10.7 meters, a design speed of 13 knots, is equipped with a shaft-belt generator, a variable torque propeller, and a SCR nitrogen oxides emission purification system, and its energy-efficiency design index meets the International Maritime Organization's EEDI Phase III standard, making it a new generation of energy-saving and environmentally friendly bulk carrier. The actual deadweight is about 37,500 tons, which is the largest loading capacity among the same type and class of Great Lakes bulk carriers, with better cargoability, economy and strong market competitiveness.
Before the sea trial, the project team adjusted the construction plan according to the actual situation of the production, learned from the experience of the former ship, planned all the production details in advance together with the production, design and other departments, actively practiced the concept of "win-win-win", implemented the production instructions and modification of the instructions, strictly controlled the quality of the construction, and strengthened the work of self-inspection and internal inspection to improve the passing rate of the first report for inspection.
During the sea trial, the equipment was in good running condition, all the test items passed at once, and all the ship performance indicators such as speed and fuel consumption met the requirements of technical specification. The sea trial team cooperated closely with the shipowner and communicated effectively, and all the performance indexes of the inspection items were better than the technical requirements, and the completeness of the trial was scored 95.1, which was praised by the shipowner and ship inspection. After the trial, the project team immediately put into the trial opinions elimination and delivery of the ship, to ensure the ship delivery on schedule. |
