The Green VLCC Was Delivered With Energy-efficient Breakthrough!

On October 25, No. 96 very large crude oil carrier (VLCC) of 307,000dwt, built by DSIC of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), was named "Kaizhi" and delivered to China Merchants Energy Shipping Corporation(CMES). Li Bai'an, deputy general manager of China Merchants Group, Hu Haimei, vice director of the fifth guiding group of central enterprises for party history learning and education of the Party committee of SASAC, Yan Wushan, deputy general manager of CMES, Yang Zhizhong and Lin Jiming, leaders of DSIC, and directors of relevant units attended the ceremony.

This ship is a new generation of super large crude oil ship independently developed by DSIC. Compared with the previous generation, it pays more attention to the energy-saving optimization of actual operation, greatly reduces the ballast draft fuel consumption, and improves the sailing performance in wind and waves. This series of ships not only have excellent overall indicators, but also have excellent safety and environmental protection performance, meet HCSR, the latest nitrogen and sulfur oxide emissions requirements, the design energy efficiency index stage requirements in advance, hazardous substances list of EU ship dismantling convention requirements, the latest requirements of major oil companies, etc..

The ship is 333m long, nearly as long as 35 5-ton trucks end to end. The total coating area is more than 540,000 square meters, which is equivalent to 76 standard football fields combined. The ship is 60m wide and 30m deep. It is classified as American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). The ship belongs to unlimited navigation area type with a range of more than 26,000 nautical miles, and can sail all over the world. It can normally carry 2 million barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Malacca at design draft of 20.5 meters.

During trial voyage, various inspection items of the ship were actively prepared and reasonably carried out. By actively communicating with the ship owner and inspection about daily inspection plan, confirming inspection environment in advance, self-checking inspection contents and other means, the daily inspection time was accurate within half an hour as planned. All items submitted for inspection have passed inspection and acceptance at 100% qualified rate. Especially in inspection application process, main engine durability, ship speed measurement and unmanned engine room are innovatively integrated, and the three inspection applications are successfully completed in only 14 hours, which greatly shortened the trial time. It is worth mentioning that fuel consumption of the ship is 310 tons and diesel consumption is 68 tons, saving nearly 200 tons of fuel and 140 tons of diesel compared with the first ship for trial. Only in this regard, the cost is saved by more than 2 million yuan, and the energy-saving effect is remarkable.
