On October 31, No.102 307,000dwt VLCC, which was built for Dynacom of Greece by DSIC, the subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, was delivered successfully. The ship was named "Alexandros".

With overall length of about 333 meters, beam of 60 meters, deck area of over 18,000 square meters, depth of 30 meters, height of nearly 20 stories from the bottom of the ship to the bridge, total coating area of over 540,000 square meters, and total cable length of over 220 kilometers, the ship is a veritable sea giant.
The ship is applied with optimized hull line, a more energy-efficient green main engine, efficient propellers and pre-oar energy saving devices, and exhaust gas desulfurization devices to meet global and regional emission limits such as NOx Tier III, EEDI PHASE II and SOx. The comprehensive energy-saving effect and environmental protection level have been significantly improved, and the performance index has reached the world first-class level. With good port and channel applicability, it can load more than 2 million barrels of crude oil freely through the Strait of Malacca at design draft of 20.5 meters. The weight of the empty ship is about 300 tons lower than that of the previous generation of products. Considering the processing cost, the steel alone will save about 3 million yuan. The daily fuel consumption of the ship in designed draught service speed is about 3.3 tons lower than that of the previous generation, and the daily fuel consumption in ballast draught service speed is about 4.5 tons lower than that of the previous generation. Calculated on the basis of 300 days of annual operation, the annual fuel cost can be saved by about 6.5 million yuan. |
