The First Ship of the New Year
On January 4, No.99 300,000dwt VLCC built by DSIC of China State Shipbuilding Corporation for China Merchants Energy Shipping Corporation(CMES) was named and delivered. Representatives of both sides signed on the delivery certificate.
Xie Chunlin, secretary of the Party committee and chairman of CMES, Huang Maosheng and Hu Bin, deputy general managers of CMES, Cai Zhuyi, deputy general manager of China Shipbuilding Trading Corporation(CSTC), Yang Zhizhong, Zheng Wei and He Xu, leaders of DSIC, and directors of relevant departments attended the on-site delivery and naming ceremony. Ms. Zhou Weihong cut the cable for the new ship, which Huang Maosheng named "NEW SPLENDOR".
This ship is the closing piece of the new generation energy-saving and environment-friendly VLCC series ships built by DSIC for CMES. It is also the 25th VLCC that DSIC has delivered to CMES since the first 300,000dwt VLCC successfully delivered in 2009. This series of ships not only have excellent overall indicators, but also have excellent safety and environmental protection performance. The structure design meets the requirements of HCSR Common Specifications, the latest NOx and SOx emission standards, ship design energy efficiency index, the list of harmful substances in EU Ship Dismantling Convention, the latest major oil company, etc.. The ship is fueled by conventional fuel oil and can reach the EEDI "Phase III" requirements in advance.
The ship is a green, ecological and environmental protection demonstration ship with energy-saving, consumption-reducing and intelligent features, built by DSIC and CMES, China Ship Scientific Research Center, CSSC Shanghai Marine Energy Saving Technology Development Corporation, China Classification Society and other units on the basis of jointly carrying out research on integrated application of various energy-saving technologies. For the first time, the ship is equipped with gas layer drag reduction system and integrated control multi energy-saving equipment (ICEE) with independent intellectual property rights of DSIC. The air layer drag reduction system is innovative energy-saving technology, which can reduce friction resistance of the ship and main engine power by forming uniform and stable air layer at the bottom of the ship. ICEE has intelligent functions such as multiple energy-saving equipment control, energy-saving effect monitoring and analysis, speed optimization, trim optimization, intelligent stowage, ship maintenance, network security, etc..
The smooth delivery of the ship not only leads the global progress in green energy-saving technology and improves the international competitiveness of China's shipbuilding and shipping industry, but also makes positive efforts and contributions to the national innovation-driven and high-quality development strategy. Guided by the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, DSIC will continue to work together with CMES and actively promote the high-end, intelligent and green development of the manufacturing industry.
