Recently, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.(DSIC) of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited(CSSC), together with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd.(CSTC) signed new shipbuilding contract with the Greek shipowner Dynacom for ten 115,000dwt product oil tankers, and good news has been received from the business.

The order for ten 115,000dwt product oil tankers have set a new record for the shipyard with the largest batch of oil tanker orders signed at one time this year, as well as the largest single tanker order in the history of DSIC in terms of actual ship batch. This series of 115,000dwt tanker is an optimized and upgraded version of LRII tanker independently developed by DSIC, responding to the construction standards and requirements of tankers built by mainstream major oil companies. DSIC has rich experience in the research, development and construction of LRII ship type, and has built and delivered more than 50 ships for domestic and foreign shipowners. This series of ships has total length of about 250 meters, molded width of 44 meters, and load capacity of about 115,000 tons. It is equipped with open desulfurization scrubber tower, meeting NOx TIER III emission standard and EEDI stage III, featuring excellent rapidity, low energy consumption and strong adaptability. Meanwhile, the main equipment such as the main engine and boiler have been localized, and reached international advanced level in terms of overall performance, environmental protection performance and reliability. It is the latest generation of green and environment-friendly medium long-haul tanker launched by DSIC for both domestic and international markets.
Since last year, the Sales and Marketing Department of DSIC has accurately evaluated and judged the demand for new shipbuilding, taken initiative to lock in high-quality customer resources in time, adjusted negotiation strategies and technical conditions based on project progress, and ultimately successfully won the oil tanker order with superior business terms compared to competitors and full trust from customers. As one of the important civil shipbuilding bases of DSIC, DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (SHGSIC) is mainly positioned for the construction of medium-sized tanker, container and bulk carriers, and this order will be built in SHGSIC. So far, SHGSIC is expected to undertake more than 20 medium-sized bulk cargo carriers and tankers in the first half of 2023, and the main dock delivery date has been scheduled to 2027. The most of the cooperative customers are mainstream European shipowners, which also highlights the achievements of DSIC in foreign shipbuilding market in recent years, especially the professional technology and marketing ability in the field of tanker construction.
Greek shipping magnate Mr. George procopiou is one of the most famous private shipowners in Greece, whose tanker company Dynacom Tankers Management operates a modern fleet of over 70 multi-type tankers, with solid operation and and strong capabilities. Dynacom is also a regular customer of CSSC and has placed orders for bulk carriers, oil tankers and FSRUs in CSSC for many times. DSIC built and delivered two 307,000dwt VLCC for it in 2022. The cooperation was smooth in the process, and the two sides have formed deep friendship of mutual trust. This time, we have once again worked together to write a new chapter in our partnership. |
