First made in the world!
On November 21, The first 7500 cubic meters liquid carbon dioxide carriers in the world, No.1 and No.2, built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company under China State Shipbuilding Corporation for Norwegian Northern Lights, started construction at the same time.
This ship is specialized in marine carbon transport and storage, with a total length of about 130 meters, a width of 21.2 meters, a structural draft of 8 meters. It is classified into DNV and is flying the Norwegian flag. The ship type of this project is independently designed and completed by DSIC with full independent intellectual property rights. The ship type research and development process adopts a variety of innovative technical means to lead the future development direction of this ship type.
This ship is equipped with full pressure C-type liquid cargo tank made of special materials for the first time in the world and the main engine is equipped with two fuels, liquefied natural gas and marine light diesel oil. The emission level of sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides of the ship meets the most stringent requirements. Through the application of two innovative technologies, rotor sail and bubble drag reduction, the emission level is significantly reduced and the energy saving effect is improved. It meets the requirements of the state-of-the-art EEDI Phase III.
After construction, the ship will be used in the European CO2 capture and storage plan to collect CO2 generated by European industry, transport it to the CO2 receiving terminal in the west coast of Norway for treatment, and then inject it into the seabed 2600 meters underground for permanent storage, so as to reduce the CO2 emissions in Europe and promote the ultimate goal of carbon neutralization in Europe as a whole.
DSIC will earnestly implement the concept of "green shipbuilding", accelerate the research and development of new technologies and processes, increase the application of new equipment and new means, and continue to make efforts in the field of green, low-carbon and environmental protection. At the same time, DSIC will keep up with the pace of the times, constantly move forward to the market of large new energy gas carriers, and constantly accumulate experience to provide a solid technical support for achieving "carbon peak and carbon neutral". |
