Recently, DSIC, the subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation(CSSC), together with China Shipbuilding Trading Corporation(CSTC), has successfully undertaken the construction of three 85,000dwt bulk carriers for Norwegian shipowner Golden Ocean, marking that the total number of orders DSIC undertook Kamsarmax ships from Golden Ocean has reached 18 and ranked among top three in the world.
Ship type profile
The contracted ship will be built in DSIC Tianjin, with total length of 227.2 meters, width of 36 meters, depth of 20.35 meters, design draft of 11.5 meters, endurance of 25,000 nautical miles, shallow draft, large capacity and load capacity, which meet the requirements of the latest effective rules and regulations, with advantages of portability and economy, taking into account the superior performance of energy saving and environmental protection, and strong market competitiveness.
Shipowner : Golden Ocean
Golden Ocean, listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, is subordinate to the shipping and offshore industry group controlled by John Fredriksen, the king of Norwegian shipping, which owns a number of major shipping and offshore companies, including the famous Frontline, Seatankers, Flex LNG, Seadrill and many others. Over the past 10 years, this group has placed orders for more than 160 ships and offshore equipment in Chinese shipyards, with a total amount of more than 10 billion US dollars.
