On March 24,Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation Limited (DSIC) of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited(CSSC) started the construction of No.4 115,000dwt crude oil tanker for China Merchants Energy Shipping Corporation Limited (CMES).
Yang Zhizhong, Party committee secretary and chairman of DSIC, Hu Bin, deputy general manager of CMES and leaders of relevant units attended the commencement ceremony.
The ship is the first of three 115,000dwt crude oil ships undertaken by DSIC for CMES. This series of ships are new Aframax type independently developed and designed by DSIC in line with the requirements of CMES, featuring excellent safety, energy saving, environmental protection and port suitability. With total length of approximately 243 meters and molded width of 44 meters, the ship can carry about 800,000 barrels of crude oil. It is equipped with such equipment as dull rudder, directional stabilizer fin, energy guide wheels and vortex eliminating fin, etc., which greatly improve operation economy while ensuring navigation safety. The main engine and generator are equipped with SCR denitrification equipment and open type desulfurization scrubber tower equipment to meet the latest environmental emission standards and maximize energy efficiency and economy. It is the main high-quality ship type of DSIC.
CMES is an important strategic partner of DSIC, and the two sides have maintained a close cooperative relationship and achieved fruitful results in multiple projects. DSIC will continuously optimize the construction of new products, improve production efficiency, shorten construction cycle, strictly control overall construction quality, create high-quality projects, further train the design and management team, consolidate the foundation for undertaking similar ship types in the future, and provide solid support for Chinese shipbuilding independent brands to play a leading role internationally. |
