Naming of one vessel and delivery of another vessel

DSIC has achieved naming of one vessel and delivery of another vessel smoothly on 8th and 9th April (two major milestones in two days). Thus, DSIC has speed up its production of civil vessels.

Naming of 115K ton crude oil/product oil vessel No.46 for Maersk

The 115K ton crude oil/product oil vessel No.46 built by DSIC for Maersk was officially named as “Maersk Selma” on 9th April.

Maersk Selma was the fourth vessel of a series of 115K ton crude oil/product oil vessel built by DSIC for Maersk. As a new generation of product oil vessel, it has remarkable performance in saving fuel and large capacity.  

This vessel has a total length of 250m, width of 44.0m, depth of 21.9m, design draft of 13.75m, structural draft of 15.35m and dead weight capacity of 115K ton. This vessel has double shell, double bottom, single deck and longitudinal framing structure for its cargohold area. The cargohold area is divided to six pairs of cargohold, one fair of slop tanks and one oil residue tank. There are six pairs of ballast tanks at two sides of the cargohold.

This vessel has remarkable matching design of vessel, machinery and propeller, and is installed with an energy-saving guide roller, which has improved greatly the efficiency of the propulsion system. The reasonable combination of machinery and propeller, room layout and structural design have contributed to the remarkable design index of vibration noise.

82K bulk carrier “Golden Fast”

DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd has delivered officially the 82K bulk carrier “Golden Fast” to Norwegian Frontline on 8th April 2021, which was the seventh vessel of a series of eight vessels.  

This vessel has a total length of 229m, width of 32.26m, depth of 20.05m, design draft of 12.2m and service speed of 14 knots. It meets the HCSR requirements. It is also installed with the flue gas desulphurization device. The machinery equipment could meet the ICE 1C ice zone requirements, but its structural design could meet ICE 1B ice zone requirements, and was certified by Lloyd’s.

The project team has kept active communication with the shipowner during the shipbuilding process, and has worked overtime to guarantee the schedule, and achieved every single milestone. Finally, the project team has completed the sea trial and delivery as planned and achieved good performance indexes, which have been highly remarked by all parties concerned.
