On May 27, the first production vessel of 175,000CBM large-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier built for China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd. (CMES) was undocked in Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.(DSIC) of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited(CSSC).
The ship has overall length of 295 meters, beam of 46.4 meters, depth of 26.2 meters, design draft of 11.5 meters, design service speed of 19.5 knots, total cargo hold capacity of 175,000 cubic meters, and a GTT Mark III Flex cargo containment system for the liquid cargo tanks, which has an evaporation rate of as low as 0.085% per day, and is able to call at most of the world's large-scale LNG terminals with excellent portability and ship-to-shore compatibility. It has excellent portability and ship-to-shore compatibility. Equipped with the latest LNG dual-fuel low-speed main engine with integrated ICER system, both fuel oil and gas modes meet the most stringent emission standards of the International Maritime Organization.
Since the start of construction, CMES LNG carrier project team has coordinated and taken the initiative to ensure the efficient development of material support, quality control and safety supervision during the docking production phase by formulating the mid-docking schedule plan for the vessel and effectively supervising and coordinating with all relevant departments, and at the same time communicating closely with the shipowner, ship inspector and all parties of the GTT to actively coordinate with the production process of the design and construction to ensure the smooth progress of the in-dock production. At the same time, the company communicates closely with the ship owner, ship inspection and GTT parties, and actively coordinates the design and construction work during the production process to ensure the smooth progress of in-dock production.
Before leaving the dock, Platform Department Two completed the airtightness inspection of all ballast tanks and transverse compartments in the deck area, the flatness inspection of 4 cargo tanks, the strength test of 3/4 ballast tanks, and the integrity inspection of the piping system of all transverse compartments and fuel tanks. All 20 cryogenic pipe units of the ship were lifted into place, 1-4 ballast tanks paint completion handover, 2-4 transverse compartments paint handover, 2/3/4 cargo tanks paint handover, 3/4 cargo tanks clean handover. Side tube tunnel trunk cable pulling and placing completed. Cabin area, except canopy area, oil and water tank dry compartment tightness handover completed, installation of two main engines and accessories completed in 5 days. The pulling and placing of the main building cables and the flushing test of the main building doors and windows in the upbuilding area were completed, and the exhaust pipe in the furnace compartment was completed.
LNG Operation Department extensively absorbed the experience of sister shipyards in cargo enclosure system construction, planned and proposed measures to solve the difficult problems and bottlenecks in cargo handling system and cargo enclosure system construction in advance. All cryogenic pipe units of the cargo handling system of the first ship were manufactured and lifted and installed on schedule and with quality and quantity guaranteed, and all welded joints were zero-repair. In the process of cabin flatness control, LNG Operation Dept. strictly enforced the construction standard of cargo enclosure system and passed the delivery inspection with high standard, which provided a strong guarantee for the subsequent construction. 3 cargo holds of the first ship cargo enclosure system were started on April 24th on schedule and the first insulating board installation was completed 5 days in advance of the schedule, which formally blew the horn for the full-scale construction of the cargo enclosure system of Dalian Shipbuilding's LNG carriers.
After the ship is undocked, it will enter the underwater mooring stage, and at the same time, the cargo enclosure system, which is unique to LNG carriers, will also enter the construction stage. Dalian Shipbuilding will further strengthen the production, safety and quality management around the production nodes to ensure the smooth and orderly construction of the cargo enclosure system and complete the sea trial node on schedule, so as to make unremitting efforts for the smooth realization of the ship delivery target. |
