DSIC (a subsidiary of CSIC) held the “2021 Excellent Interns Reward and 2022 New Employment Orientation Meeting” on 10th Oct 2022. Yang Zhizhong, the Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of DSIC encouraged new employees to “stick to their dreams and make great achievements”. Yin Xuelin, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee announced the list of excellent interns.
Yang Zhizhong extended warm welcome to new employees in 2022 on behalf of the party committee of DSIC and congratulated employees awarded with the title of “2021 Excellent Interns”. He pointed out that “DSIC was established in 1898, with a glorious history of 124 years. Numerous talents have worked hard and made great contribution to the shipbuilding industry in China. DSIC is also the first shipbuilding enterprise taking overseas orders, and is the main production base of naval equipment in China. It is also a strong builder of civil vessels. Our mission is to build a strong army and develop the shipbuilding industry. DSIC has kept steady economic indexes since the 13th five-year period and won many honors. These great achievements and performance have built the cultural and spiritual nucleus of DSIC. 2022 witnessed the 20th national congress of CPC and is an important year in the 14th five-year plan, and also the year when DSIC starts to embark on the road of “high-quality development” in a new sage. You will grow together with a better DSIC in future”. He hoped that new employees can achieve the following five points:
1. Have a great dream. We are experiencing an unprecedented change in the past 100 years and are closer to the great revitalization of the Chinese nationality than any period in the history. Building a bigger and stronger shipbuilding industry in China has strategic importance in maintaining the safety of national defense and economy. DSIC shoulders the obligatory duty to “build a strong army and improve the core capability of military industry”. As the new force of DSIC, new employees shall have the strong will and down-to-earth attitude and make great achievements; new employees shall have “great dreams” and return “their learning” to serve the motherland, adapt to the society actively, move faster to achieve the “role transition”, apply their learning into practice, improve their skills in the practice, broaden the width and height of career development and grow faster into the “backbone” of DSIC.
2. Cultivate moral character, replenish the “spiritual calcium”, be patriotic and live up to the expectation of the Chinese people, pursue the “noble and pure” ideological realm, work hard and make contribution to the cause of CPC and Chinese people, integrate themselves into DSIC’s corporate culture of “harmony, hard-working, refinement and innovation” and stick to the “carrier” spirit of “patriotic, creative, scientific and hard-working”, achieve personal values in their work, integrate their personal ideal into the sustainable development of DSIC and into the “Chinese dream” of achieving the great revitalization of the Chinese nationality, and leave the “regretless” footprint of hard working in the new era and new journey.
3. Stay hungry in pursuing knowledge and improve the working ability. New employees shall reinforce the theoretical foundation and improve the practical skill. They shall improve the professional capacity and the knowledge structure, keep the enthusiasm and initiative in learning, change “passive learning” into “active learning”, take the work and task requirements as the momentum and opportunity of learning, understand the duty of their positions, master and improve professional knowledge and skills, master basic skills, grow and practice while learning, combine the learning and practice, and apply the knowledge.
4. Follow the “values”, think in terms of big picture, focus on “value creation” and achieve self-worth. An enterprise’s mission is to create value for its customers and fulfill social responsibility. As to individuals, achieving “self-worth” is the highest requirements of “reflecting self-worth”. New employees should always review their work, focus on “value creation” in their positions, establish the “process thinking”, reduce “redundant steps”, improve the working efficiency, think in terms of the big picture, build the ability of identifying sharply the internal and external environment, consider the “general interest” and “big picture” during the work.
5. Build the “crisis awareness” when exploring, innovating and continuing the “shipbuilding industry”, and adapt continuously to changes of the external environment. The international situation and market are changing rapidly. New business patterns are being adopted. An enterprise need to embrace the changes proactively, hold the “empty cup” mentality, and have the courage to self-reform. DSIC has been pushing product innovation by technical innovation and also innovating new business process, operation model and organizational model. New employees shall always keep the enthusiasm of pursuing the knowledge, think out of the box and step out of the comfort zone while inheriting the excellent tradition of DSIC. They shall lay a solid foundation for their own career development and also adapt to the strategic development of DSIC.
