Recently, the construction of the largest 13,000cbm LNG type B cargo tank in the world was started in DSIC Equipment Manufacturing Co., LTD(DSICEM).
The type B tank in construction is for the LNG fuelled 16,000TEU container ship series. Each ship is equipped with an independent type B tank. There are 8 sets of this series in total. Designed by DSIC Design Institute, with fully independent intellectual property rights, the tank capacity is 13,000 cubic meters, the design temperature is -163°C, the design pressure is 0.7Bar, the main shell material is NV9Ni/a steel, and the internal pipeline is 316L steel. It is registered with DNV Classification Society. Compared with the traditional type C tank, the type B tank has the advantages of high capacity utilization ,flexible and diverse design.
In order to build the 13,000cbm LNG type B tank, DSICEM, Design Institute, Production Management Department, and Project Team jointly formed a project team. Relying on the strong productivity of DSIC and combining with the existing site layout of DSICEM, detailed design work has been completed, such as the block division, assembly, internal outfitting platform and piping system arrangement of type B tank. The welding process of key nodes and the precision control procedure of block assembly were conquered, which ensured the smooth progress of the project.
DSICEM has always been committed to the development and application of new technology, new tank types and new materials, and has undertaken multiple global first projects, with independent tank design, construction and project management capabilities. At present, it has successfully delivered the world's largest 3,500cbm type C LNG tank. Meanwhile, projects under construction include 1,675cbm LNG tank for Pure Car and Truck Carriers and NYK 3,000cbm LNG tank, with production orders scheduled to 2026. The construction of the 13,000cbm LNG type B tank project is a milestone for DSICEM, which greatly enhances the core competitiveness and lays a solid foundation for the strategic transformation of DSIC to high value-added products. |
