Recently, DSIC held the signing ceremony for the construction contract of two 85,000dwt bulk carriers.
The carriers taken in this project are the same type of subsequent products as ten 85,000dwt bulk carriers undertaken in 2019. Compared with the 85,000dwt bulk carriers under construction, some systems on ship have been upgraded or adjusted in terms of design. With total length of 227.2m, width of 36m and depth of 20.35m, this type of ship is Post-Panama shallow-draft bulk carrier. Compared with traditional kamsarmax bulk carriers, this type of ship has shallow draft, larger tank capacity and deadweight, better port adaptability and economy. It meets the requirements of the latest effective rules and regulations, and has strong market competitiveness. At the same time, batch order receiving has a positive effect on the cost control of this ship type, and effectively improves the competitiveness for DSIC in new shipbuilding market.
