On May 28, DSIC Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. delivered a 318,000 ton VLCC built for Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) successfully.
The carrier is a very large crude carrier developed, designed and built by DSIC Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. independently and can meet the requirements of the latest standards. The type of this carrier has reached leading international standards on performance indexes, energy saving and emission reduction and environment protection. The successful delivery has proved DSIC Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.’s building ability and strength in VLCC market and indicated the company’s successful entry into the market of Kuwait and the Middle East.
The carrier is about 333.00 m long, 60.00 m wide, 30.50 m deep, 20.50 m for designed draft and 22.50 m for scantling draft. Meanwhile, it is also equipped with advanced facilities such as ship energy efficiency management system, hull stress monitoring system, fixed gas detection system and anti-pirates system.
The carrier is an order for a VLCC which DSIC Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. has signed again ever since 7 years ago, and also Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC)’s first cooperation with China shipbuilding enterprise after its cooperation with shipbuilding enterprises in Japan and South Korea.
