On December 1, No.3 120,000dwt bulk carrier, ”FORTE SÃO MARCELO”, built for Empresa Naviera Elcano, S.A was successfully delivered by Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Corporation (SSIC) of DSIC. So far, SSIC has delivered 9 ships in 2021, successfully completing the annual delivery task, which will lay a good foundation for DSIC to achieve production and operation tasks in the first year of "the 14th Five-Year Plan".
This ship is the first of the series including 2 bulk carrier ships of 120,000dwt. The ship has total length of 258.7 meters, mould depth of 20.5m, design draft of 13.72m, and structural draft of 15.00m. The ship is registered with LR Classification Society. It belongs to the ship type of unlimited navigation area with a range of 22,200 nautical miles, and can sail all over the world.
In early construction stage, SSIC strictly controlled the important nodes in construction process, continuously optimized construction procedure, improved production flow and integrity of outfitting in dock. Affected by the epidemic, some equipment commissioning service providers could not arrive at the factory as scheduled, and the construction participants took the initiative to implement equipment inspection application through telephone, wechat and other ways. With their efforts, the inclined and empty ship status inspection was qualified at one time, which laid a solid foundation for ensuring the trial voyage and delivery of the ship in advance.
During trial voyage, the speed, fuel consumption and other performance indexes of the ship have met the requirements of the contract and technical specifications. The overall performance of the ship has been highly praised and recognized by the shipowner, ensuring the smooth delivery of the ship with high quality. |
