On December 5, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation(DSIC), the subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation(CSSC), and China Shipbuilding Trading Corporation(CSTC) successfully undertook the new construction project of two 175,000 cubic meters large liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers for China Merchants Energy Shipping Corporation(CMES), the subsidiary of China Merchants Group. Representatives of all parties jointly signed the construction contract.
Ship type profile
The ship type of this project is independently developed by DSIC, with total length of 299.7m, width of 46m, depth of 26.2m, design draft of 11.5m, design service speed of 19.5 knots and total cargo tank capacity of 175,000m3. The ship adopts Mark III Flex cargo enclosure system patent of GTT with four cargo holds. The liquid cargo system is only used for LNG cargo transportation, and is equipped with reliquefaction system. Two WinGD LNG dual-fuel low-speed main engines with integrated iCER system are installed on ship, which meet the most stringent IMO emission standards in both fuel and gas modes. A double stern line design is applied to drive two fixed pitch propellers through a dual shaft system with two efficient twist rudders with rudder balls to enhance the safety redundancy of the propulsion system. Four dual-fuel generators are optimally designed to meet the electric load requirements of the whole ship.
Win-win cooperation
The signing of the construction contract is a further achievement of DSIC and CMES on the basis of the early acceptance of four real ship orders. In response to the development trend of green emission reduction and digitalization and intelligence in the new era, DSIC has carried out active and effective technological innovation in cooperation with CMES, further consolidated and deepened long-term mutually beneficial cooperation through the project, actively played their respective advantages, promoted common development, and become a model of win-win cooperation between the upstream and downstream of central enterprise groups. The cooperation will further enhance the overall strength of China's shipbuilding industry, provide equipment guarantee for China's energy transport security, and contribute to the realization of the "dual carbon" goal. |
