On September 27, No.3 16,000TEU container ship, the largest container ship in North China, built by DSIC Industry Co., Ltd.(DSIC) Tianjin for Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A.(MSC), was named and delivered 100 days ahead of the contract period.
Shan Zefeng, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin Binhai New District and mayor of the district, YoungBo Lee, newbuilding manager of MSC Far East, Yan Xiaolin, general manager of DNV North, Lin Feng, deputy general manager of CSTC, Zhu Jianzhang, deputy director of Marine Design and Research Institute of China, Han Dongwang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and general manager of DSIC, Lin Jiming, deputy general manager of DSIC, and guests from all parties attended the ceremony. Ms. Tian Qiushi named the vessel "MSC GIUSY".
Ship type profile
The ship has overall length of 366 meters, beam of 51 meters, depth of 30.2 meters, design draught of 14.5 meters and structural draught of 17 meters. It can carry up to 16,616 standard containers and load 1,800 refrigerated containers. It is currently the largest container ship built in North China. The class symbols for the ship such as GAS-READY, enhanced fire protection, one-person driving maximize the protection of green energy saving and environmental protection of the ship as well as the safety and economy of operation.
The ship is powered by conventional fuel and is equipped with an open and closed dual mode desulfurization system. The main engine and generator are each equipped with an independent washing tower, with a double island layout in the front and rear, suitable for unlimited navigation areas. The main engine is equipped with green and environmentally friendly systems such as high-pressure SCR denitrification and mixed scrubber desulfurization, meeting the latest regulatory requirements and various pollution gas emission standards. All performance and economic indicators are at the international leading level, making it a full life cycle green ship that meets energy conservation and environmental protection in all stages from design to operation to ship dismantling.
The ship is the largest Panamax container ship of new generation, adopting the new design concept of "safety, economy and environmental protection", equipped with ship energy efficiency management system, integrating many energy-saving measures suitable for real ship operation, with high operability for actual operation, and making the EEDI lower than 59% of the baseline through the energy-saving measures such as optimization of the ship's profile and adoption of high-efficiency paddle rudders and pre-propeller energy-saving devices. Through the optimization of the ship's profile and the adoption of energy-saving measures such as high-efficiency oar and rudder and pre-propeller energy-saving devices, the ship's EEDI is 59% below the baseline. It also adopts energy-saving technologies such as an air lubrication system and a 4 MW shaft-belt generator to radically reduce fuel consumption and maximize energy efficiency.
As the first container ship built by DSIC Tianjin since the inauguration of its operation, the successful delivery of the ship not only marks that DSIC Tianjin has made a major breakthrough in the welding of stop-crack steel, precision control and construction cycle control, realized the whole process of construction of large container ships, and possessed the capability of constructing large container ships in large quantities, but also effectively examined DSIC Tianjin's highly efficient level of construction and profound construction capability, and filled up the blank of constructing large container ships in North China at one stroke.
DSIC Tianjin will take this ship delivery as an opportunity to further strengthen the synergy with shipowners, classification societies and other parties, comprehensively summarize the experience of the former shipbuilding, ensure the efficient performance of the subsequent projects, rely on the products to establish the brand advantage, continuously improve the core competitiveness, broaden the market, give full play to the role of an important positioning of DSIC Tianjin Base, and put into practice the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC with the new shipbuilding achievements.
Two major nodes before the festival
No.4 16,000TEU container ship built by DSIC for MSC triumphed from sea trial
No. 6 16,000 TEU Container Ship undocking
During the construction process of No.4 16,000TEU container ship, it fully combined with the construction experience of the former ship and continuously optimized the production process and procedure, which provided guarantee for the smooth progress of the sea trial. During the trial voyage, the crew made every effort to organize the delivery inspection, reasonably planned the delivery inspection items, actively communicated with the shipowner, and all the inspection reports were passed at one time, successfully completed all the delivery inspection items, and got the unanimous praise from the shipowner, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent delivery tasks.
The launching completeness of 16000TEU container ship No.6 reached a new high for the series of ships, and the completion rate of each delivery inspection section was greatly improved. Among them, 43 nacelle system deliveries were completed to ensure that the generator realized the movement. For the first time in the series of ships, the installation of rudder was completed in the dock and the delivery inspection was completed; 18 deck system deliveries were completed, the main transom outer board painting was completed, all the specially coated compartments were coated and part of the paint film was delivered for inspection; the whole ship's cable laying was completed for inspection and the nacelles, the side pipe tunnels, and the tie-up bridges realized the illumination of the power supply. The tie-up bridges were completed for inspection and the dry compartment was completed for the whole ship's cabin. The delivery inspection of the lashing bridge was finished, and the dry cabin of all cabins was finished, laying a good foundation for shortening the underwater construction cycle. |
