On June 15, DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. held an introduction meeting for the ship type by the opportunity of successful delivery of 85,000 ton bulk carrier No. 1 to introduce technical advantages of this ship type in detail, set up brand image further and improve the company’s reputation and influence.
Mr. Yang Zhizhong and Mr. Yao Hongshan, leaders from DSIC and leaders and guests from many organizations joined in the introduction meeting. Mr. Yao Hongshan showed in the speech that, this activity was to discuss the situation of shipping market, share the ship type which is green and energy saving and environment protective, enable everyone to know DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. better, respond to the state’s development strategy on internal and external cycle of national economy together actively, enhance long-term cooperation and realize high quality development. In the meeting, DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. introduced the company’s development details on hardware resources, product structure, ability performance and operation policy, introduced 85,000 ton bulk carrier’s technical characteristics on optimized design, energy saving and emission reduction, noise and vibration reduction and so on, and made exchange and discussion with participant guests on problems they are always concerned with. Clarksons Platou Co., Ltd. was also invited to join in the meeting to analyze the market situation; China Classification Society introduced IMO’s new requirements for emission reduction, new trend and relevant solutions.
85,000 ton bulk carrier is a new super Panama bulk carrier developed by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute, which is an energy saving and environment protective ship mainly used to transport grains. Excellent linetype and low wind resistance design is used to reduce fuel consumption greatly and improve the ship’s seakeeping and control ability under severe sea condition; EEDI index meet the requirements of EEDI Phase 2; SCR system is equipped with to meet the standard of NOx emission Tier III; three kinds of fuel oils are loaded to meet the rules of SOx emission. This ship belongs to a new shipbuilding type of DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. which is very competitive in the market. Currently, the company has received 18 orders for this ship type. With the increasing of shipping quantity in Central and South America, Africa and Australia year by year, limitation to draft becomes an important index and this ship type will provide more competitive shipping carrier for these shipping routes. |
