Another New-type Guided Missile Destroyer Launches
Still baptizing in festival joy of Army Day, DSIC launched a guided missile destroyer of the latest type for China Navy on No.1 Slipway successfully on August 3, where CSIC Chairman Hu Wenming cut the rope for the new naval ship in person, and PLA Navy North Sea Fleet Deputy Commander Huang Xinjian and Chengdu Deputy Mayor witnessed the event together. DSIC leaders Liu Zheng, Xiao Shi, Ding Yi and Hu Jianzhong attended the ceremony.
Along with flying of the rope, the majestic warship has slid into blue sea steadily. Meanwhile, No.1 Slipway has perfectly fulfilled her final duty, quietly out of people’s sight unknown to public.
DSIC is hailed as the Cradle of Naval Ships, among which, No.1 Slipway completing the launching task this time was built in 1950s, 200m long, 27m wide, 4m high max in the forward. She has experienced winds and rains through the ages and made brilliant achievements to development of DSIC and CSIC and construction of PLA Navy equipment, setting up an unbroken Sea Great Wall for national marine safety. Since putting into service, hundreds of warships have been launched from this slipway, such as the first 10000DWT tanker, the first minelayer, the first gunboat, and the 1st~4th generations of guided missile destroyers. It seems that the waves splashed by each launching warships from this slipway have reflected the growth and glory of China Shipbuilding. Along with DSIC’s development of military products from small size to large size, and small scale to large scale, No.1 Slipway has finished her historical mission with today’s launching ceremony as her last show.
