On April 3, DSIC of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited(CSSC) started construction of No.10 LNG fuelled 16,000TEU container ship for MSC.
With total length of 366 meters and width of 51 meters, the ship can carry more than 16,200 standard containers. It is a large container ship that is green, environmentally friendly ,efficient and energy-saving. With new design concept of "safety, economy and environmental protection", the ship is equipped with a variety of energy-saving equipment such as air lubrication drag reduction system, shaft generator and energy-saving guide wheels before propeller, etc.. The EEDI value of the ship is more than 65% lower than the baseline, meeting the latest IMO requirements on carbon emissions. It is equipped with energy efficiency management system, which integrates many energy saving measures suitable for actual ship operation and is highly operable for actual operation, so that the shipowner can achieve better energy saving effect in operation management.
The ship is equipped with type B LNG Bunker independently designed and built by DSIC with independent intellectual property rights, and low-pressure gas supply system of CSSC SUNRUI. It is installed with WinGD main engine and Icer Diesel green energy-saving system, which fully meets the latest environmental protection emission standards and maximizes energy efficiency and economy.
The 8 LNG fuelled 16,000TEU container ships built for MSC are the first LNG powered large container ships built by DSIC. The implementation of the project has further consolidated the close cooperation between DSIC and global mainstream liner companies, and provided solid support for CSSC to play a leading role in the world. |
