On May 26, the first worldwide M350 FPS0 "Bacalhau", jointly developed and designed by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry co., ltd. of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited and MODEC, was officially delivered, achieving a significant breakthrough of FPSO construction in China.
Takeshi Kanamori, president and CEO of Mitsui Marine Group; Soichi Ide, president and CEO of Mitsui Marine Development Offshore Production Units (Singapore) LTD; Geir Tungesvik, executive vice president of Equinor Drilling, Projects and Acquisition; Jayme Meier, Vice President of ExxonMobil Deep Water Project Department, Yang Zhizhong and Lin Jiming, leaders of Dalian Shipbuilding, attended the towing delivery ceremony.
Bacalhau FPSO is the seventh new FPSO built by DSIC, and it is the first cooperation between Dalian Shipbuilding and the world-renowned FPSO general contractor Mitsui Marine (MODEC) and the world-renowned oil company Equinor in the field of new FPSO. This new floating production, storage and unloading tanker has moved from concept to practice, from drawings to real ships, fully realizing three-dimensional design and visual construction in accordance with the life-cycle information and digital management concepts, meeting the information and digital operation and maintenance requirements of end users, and is the first ultra-large offshore project in the world designed with the latest specifications of Norsk Verges Society. It can meet the special Marine environmental conditions in Brazil, West Africa, Australia and other regions, and is suitable for oil and gas development operations in multiple Marine areas around the world, and significantly reduce the operating costs of owners.
The largest FPSO in Brazilian waters in terms of capacity and reserves
The project is a comprehensive large-scale offshore oil production base for oil extraction, oil and gas separation, treatment of oily sewage, power generation, heating, storage and transportation of crude oil products, and integration of personnel residence and production command system. The oil field is Santos Basin, off the coast of Sao Paulo State, Brazil. It is the floating production, storage and unloading vessel with the largest capacity and reserves in Brazilian waters.
The volume scale and scale parameters are the largest in the world
The project is classified by the Norwegian Classification Society and flies the Bahamian flag. It is the largest in the world, with a total length of 364 meters, a width of 64 meters, a depth of 33 meters, a design draft of 22.65 meters, a displacement of more than 460,000 tons, and a deck area of 17,400 square meters, equivalent to three standard football fields. It can process 220,000 barrels of crude oil per day, equivalent to an onshore oil and gas processing plant covering 10 square kilometers. Among them, the upper module of oil and gas treatment weighs 50,000 tons, the whole ship has 34,000 pipes, weighing about 4,000 tons, and the total length of the cable is about 800,000 meters, which is equivalent to the linear distance from Dalian to Shanghai. The painting area is about 880,000 square meters, and the amount of construction objects is three times that of ordinary VLCC ship types.
The application of multiple materials and systems is the first in the world

The biggest features of this project are large volume, high standard, tight schedule and multiple interfaces, which put forward higher requirements for the design, acquisition and construction of Dalian Shipbuilding. In close cooperation with the spirit of "one team, one goal" (one team, one goal), the parties overcame the influence of manpower, supply chain, and finally achieved towage. All parties have made great efforts to write a new chapter of sincere cooperation, which is a model of sincere cooperation. |
