From June 23 to June 24, there was good news on civilian vessels built by DSIC to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. One vessel was named and one vessel was undocked successfully. 307,000 ton VLCC “CS HUNAN VENTURE” was named and the first dual-fuel VLCC in the world was undocked.
307,000 Ton VLCC “CS HUNAN VENTURE” Was Named
On June 24, DSIC held the naming ceremony for 307,000 Ton VLCC No. 6 built for China Shipping Brokerage. This vessel belongs to a competitive brand type which is newly developed by DSIC independently.
The vessel is about 333m long, 60m wide and 30m deep. It belongs to the vessel type having no limitation to shipping area and sailing distance is over 25000 sea miles. It can load 2 million buckets of crude oil normally to pass Strait of Malacca with designed draft of 20.5m.
Its characteristics of energy saving and environment protection are very outstanding. Independent desulfurized washing tower room is added at the stern of chimney, more energy-saving G-type main engine and new full diameter high-performance airscrew are equipped on excellent hull, and energy-efficient assembled device at the front and end of the oar having independent intellectual property is configurated.
Every node plan of the whole vessel is always under excellent condition. The airtightness of cargo space, ballast tank and dry chamber was 100% when the vessel was undocked. The oil paint for the whole vessel before trial voyage was completed. The weighting of empty vessel and berthing of main engine was completed one week in advance and planned nodes of trial voyage was realized half a month in advance. 46 voyage test items were successfully completed just in 6 days. Various indexes and performances are very excellent and it has received good praises from the shipowners and ship surveyors.
The First Dual-fuel VLCC in the World Was Undocked Successfully
On June 23, 300,000 ton crude carrier No. 91 built for COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation Co., Ltd. by DSIC was undocked successfully, which means successful building of the first dual-fuel VLCC in the world and the starting of construction under the water.
The vessel is 333.0m long, 60.0m wide and 30.5m deep with designed draft of 20.5m and listed into China Classification Society (CCS). The vessel is the first dual-fuel VLCC in the world. LNG dual-fuel solution is used for main engine, electric generator and donkey boiler, WINGD low pressure main engine is used for main engine. Main engine and electric generator can meet the requirements NOX emission Tier III and low pressure SCR is equipped. In addition, LNG low pressure gas supply system, C-type tank gas storage system and refueling system are equipped. 2 C-type LNG tanks are arranged on deck. Two tanks have a total capacity of 7000m3 and a weight of about 625ton. Under the circumstance of designed draft of 20.5m and sailing speed of 15 miles, LNG sailing distance can meet 12000 sea miles. Besides, corresponding auxiliary systems on firefighting, inerting, monitoring and ventilation are added on the vessel to make sure of the safety in the refueling, storage and using of LNG.
Before undocking, the integrity and airtightness of cargo space and ballast tank were inspected. Ballast tank’s coating film was inspected at the rate of 100% and the intensity of oil tank in the cabin was also inspected at the rate of 100%. The electric generator was also inspected, the boiler can come to the condition of ignition, steering engine was installed, lifeboats were hung and accommodation ladder was in the condition for inspection.
In the construction of C-type LNG low pressure storage tank, DSIC has organized many times of demonstrations and discussions before protection, craning and installation and worked out the methods in advance. By trial and error, the application for inspection of the cleaning and casting of C-type LNG low temperature storage tank foundation was approved just for one time. |
