On March 31, DSIC successfully accepted the order for seven 16000TEU container ships. This project is jointly undertaken by DSIC, China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd.(CSTC) and Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited (GSI), with a total of 13 16000TEU container ships. It is the maximum single container ship order in the history of CSSC, with a total price of over 10 billion RMB. The order came into effect immediately, which marks the second large container ship project following the delivery of 20,000TEU container ship in 2018 for DSIC.
This series of container ships, which combine the main engines, design and construction of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Ltd.(CSSC) own brand, are major achievement of deep integration in civil ships field after the reorganization and integration of CSSC, and mark a successful end to offshore operation in the first quarter for DSIC.
With total length of 366m and width of 51m, this series of ships can carry more than 16000 standard containers. Meanwhile, the ships are green and environment friendly, high efficiency and energy saving large container ships. The reserved LNG driven function and installation of desulphurization tower, together with new concept of environment-protection and resistance-reduction design are adopted to meet the latest environmental protection emission standard.
In the first quarter of this year, due to the impact of global epidemic and demand for global trade goods, the container market rebounded rapidly, resulting in a number of large container ship orders worldwide. During this period, DSIC has played a positive role in improving the operating efficiency of CSSC by maintaining steady pace of operation, making accurate judgments, seizing opportunities and successfully accepting orders in the best market period.
As the main shipyard of CSSC, DSIC has successfully delivered more than 100 container ships of various types with sophisticated technology and rich experience in construction of large ships. The signing of this order has further enhanced the market position and brand effect of DSIC in the field of large container ships, further consolidated the close cooperation between DSIC and worldwide mainstream liner companies, and provided a solid support for the leading role of Chinese independent ship brands in international market. Meanwhile, it is also an important manifestation for CSSC active implementation of "international and domestic double circulation" strategy on the basis of positive restructuring and integration effect. |
