On November 22nd, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.(DSIC) of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited(CSSC), together with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd.(CSTC) and COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation Corporation(COSCO Shipping Energy), successfully signed the contract for 6 crude oil tankers of 307,000dwt, which will fly the five-star red flag and were settled in RMB with total contract value of more than 5.7 billion RMB.

The friendly cooperation between DSIC and COSCO Shipping Group started in 1984, and DSIC has built 154 ships of various types for them. The signing of this contract is a continuation of the in-depth cooperation between DSIC and COSCO Shipping Energy in the field of oil tankers. Both parties will give full play to their respective advantages in accordance with the principles of “sincere cooperation, complementary advantages, equal priority and mutual benefit and win-win situation”, and will actively implement the national energy strategy to provide a solid guarantee for the implementation of China's energy construction.
VLCC has always been the traditional advantageous products of DSIC, up to now DSIC has successfully delivered 117 VLCCs, with 35 hand-held orders, and in 2024 new VLCC orders of DSIC will account for more than 50% of worldwide effective orders for this type of ship. The 307,000dwt crude oil tanker is a new generation of super-large crude oil tanker independently developed by DSIC based on the demand of shipowners against the background of accelerated carbon emission reduction in the international shipping industry. This ship type has gone through many rounds of type line optimization and has excellent overall performance. Combined with the EEDI Phase III standard, the main engine power and speed are rematched, and the energy-saving device adopts the front prespinning guide wheel and vortex-eliminating fins to realize the best energy-saving effect and good economy. |
