Delivery
On October 30, the first ship of the 16,000TEU container ship series jointly built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd.(DSIC) of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited(CSSC) and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd.(CSTC) was named and delivered to Minsheng Financial Leasing(MSFL) one month ahead of the annual plan. After delivery, the ship will be leased to Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A.(MSC)for operation.
Leaders of DSIC Yang Zhizhong, Han Dongwang, Lin Jiming and He Xu, secretary of the Party committee and president of MSFL Kong Xiangge, vice general manager of CSTC Cai Zhuyi, MSC new shipbuilding technology manager Sun Zhenghao, and directors of relevant units attended the ceremony. Ms. Deng Yi, member of the Party committee and president assistant of MSFL, named the vessel "MSC CANDIDA".
This ship is the largest Panamax container ship of new generation. The ship is designed with new concept of "safety, economy and environmental protection" and is equipped with ship energy efficiency management system, which integrates a number of energy-saving measures suitable for real ship operation and is highly operable in real operation. Through the optimization of ship profile and the adoption of high-efficiency oar and rudder and pre-oar energy-saving devices, the EEDI of the ship is 57% lower than the baseline. It also adopts energy-saving technologies such as air lubrication system and a 4 MW shaft generator, which fundamentally reduces fuel consumption and improves economic efficiency, and facilitates the shipowner to achieve better energy-saving results while operating and managing the ship, maximizing energy efficiency and economy.
During the construction of the ship, the design and production departments of DSIC fully summarized and absorbed the experience of the series of ships construction, in line with the attitude of continuous improvement and responsible to the user, constantly optimize the design and improve the construction method, to improve the production efficiency, shorten the construction cycle as a guide, to carefully plan and pay close attention to the process forward and the integrity of each stage as the goal, to achieve the end of the dock test box, power generation motor vehicle and other projects. The one-time inspection qualification rate has remained stable at over 96%, with significant breakthroughs in various production indicators compared to the first ship.
During the sea trial, the project team and Dock Department II reasonably arranged the test items according to the experience of the series of ships, and completed all the test items in only 6 days. After the trial verification, the speed, fuel consumption, EEDI and other test results of the ship meet and exceed the design indicators, which have been praised by the shipowner and ship inspection.
