On February 17, the green methanol fueled VLCC concept design jointly developed by DSIC of China State Shipbuilding Corporation and COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation Corporation (COSCO Shipping Energy) was certificated the approval in principle independently issued by DNV and CCS respectively .
Zhao Jinwen, vice general manager of COSCO Shipping Energy, Zheng Wei, chief engineer and vice general manager of DSIC, representatives of DNV, CCS classification Society and directors of relevant departments of DSIC attended the ceremony.
This project is a forward-looking cooperative research and development project jointly carried out by the two sides after the successful R & D, design and construction of the first worldwide LNG dual-fuel VLCC for COSCO Shipping Energy by DSIC. The two sides actively implement the goal of "emission peak and carbon neutrality" in shipping, which contributes to the "zero carbon" future of shipping industry.
As a ship assembly enterprise with R & D, design, construction and equipment manufacturing capabilities, DSIC has always been at the forefront of the world in the application of green and environmental protection new technologies such as sail boost and LNG dual fuel. Meanwhile, DSIC has been deeply engaged in the innovation and development of "low carbon" and "zero carbon" green ecological ship types for many years, and is committed to providing shipowners with integrated solutions for energy conservation and carbon reduction. Relying on strong technical reserves and continuous innovation, DSIC will work hand in hand with our trusted shipowner partners to make greater contributions to the realization of "double carbon" shipping target and "zero carbon" ship type commercialization. |
