A Smooth Trip: SK325K ton VLOC (Very Large Ore Carrier) sailed for seal trial today.
The first 325K ton VLCC (Very Large Ore Carrier) built by CSIC for SK Shipping sailed for seal trial on 12th March.
This is a new generation VLOC (Very Large Ore Carrier) built by CSIC for SK Shipping (Korean ship owner). This vessel is about 340m long and 62m wide and has a molded depth of 29.5m, an estimated average speed of 15.1 knots, and cruising endurance of 25500 nautical miles. It has a deck area equivalent to three standard football fields. The superstructure has seventeen floors. Its subdivision, structure, propulsion, monitoring and loading are upgraded in all aspects. The vessel's ballast water system pipeline is made of reinforced glass fiber, and equipped with exhaust sulfur oxide scrubber. It reserves a LNG fuel tank in light of the future needs.“Environmental-friendly, energy-efficiency, safe and robust” are its features. Its overall performance has reached the global advanced level. It is scheduled to deliver to the ship owner for operation around second half of April.
